After Bucco's strange symptoms 2 days ago, he is back to his normal self and was flying on the gallop this morning!  Hopefully he can kick off the season this weekend at Ideford Arch and be Mr. Biddick's first winner for us!  Miss Nut Nut, Praise Hymn and Pearly Star are off to Buckfastleigh next weekend, all looking well.

Develop U, known on the yard as Wesley, very much impressed David yesterday afternoon while on the gallop.  Both him and Calzaghe are continuing to impress us with their work!

Not many days ever go to plan and yesterday proved to be another head-scratcher with Bucco stumping the vets-showing signs of both mild colic and tying-up.  All seemed better last night and we will see how he gets on today.

Poor Emily got dumped on the road but soldiered on-well done.

Another day that seemed to go on forever and nothing ever feels right when one of the babies is not well!

Whitley Farm Racing and Rehabilitation

David and I were very impressed yesterday watching a program about Tom Lacy on ATR.  Giving youngsters the confidence they need to succeed in a life of racing is vital and something we strive for with ours.

Another blustery day here at Whitley but all are going well. We are looking forward to our first run with NoBetter Buachaill and Silver Peninsula on Saturday at Ideford Arch, 'Penny' in the 2 1/2 mile maiden and 'Bucco' in the 3 mile maiden.   We're hoping the 'penny' will drop for Silver Peninsula as she is proving to be quite immature mentally and is unaware of her own ability.  Bucco is impressing us at home and hope he will continue to do so on the track.

We hear all good things from Mr. Fry concerning 'Wiffy', who we prepared for a bumper run. They are pleased with his work and attitude and plan to run him in a few weeks' time. Good luck Wiffy, we'll be watching!

Praise Hymn, Miss Nut Nut and Pearly Star are getting ready for Buckfastleigh in a couple weeks' time. Calzaghe and Develop U are cantering buddies after a long time on the roads building their strength. Both are impressive and plans are that Calzaghe will go hunter chasing in the near future and Develop U will have a point to point run perhaps late March.
